ECO MOM ALLIANCE sponsored a workshop at Athleta, Upper East Side.   Busy moms from the NYC area joined Athleta for a strengthening Pilates mat class followed by delicious and nutritious green smoothies and workshop by Cleaner Lighter You.  We had such a great time chatting with all the different moms dealing with similar issues...carving out time to nurture themselves.  Everyone that attended received a complimentary private session with cleaner lighter you & fun give aways. 

 I taught the 45 minute PILATES class. I must say that it felt really good to teach again. 

Cute Taylor came to the workshop. We drank our smoothie shots but guess where we ended up after the class? Uh...shake shack. Everything in moderation, right?




A few things I was reminded about during the workshop:
1. taking time to exercise is crucial for women
2. nutrition makes up for 80% of what we look like, exercise is 20%
3. Start your day off with 2 glasses of water, we wake up dehydrated, squeeze lemon to jump start metabolism
4. Eat seasonally, teach your kids to help pick out the veggies & fruit for each season
5.Shop local farmers markets first before buying veggies & fruits from grocery store. 
6. ORGANIC MILK ONLY
7. One green smoothie a day
8. don't count calories, eat when you are hungry, eat the right foods
9. veggies, fruit, beans, & protein
10. Every mother needs the energy that comes from proper nutrition & exercise
11. Best kind of bar to give kids, LARA BAR
12. Train their taste buds when they are young.
13. Just because you buy food & snacks from wholefoods, DOES NOT mean its healthy
14. Making treats VEGAN style is always a healthier option

My 2cents- Your skin will look amazing and have a radiant glow when you incorporate more veggies, green drinks, & smoothies.  To be clear I'm talking about smoothies like the one below. Not Jamba. :) They are full of sugar.


Green Smoothie
1/2 cup Vanilla Almond Milk
1-2TBS Almond Butter
3 handfuls Spinach
1/2 banana
blend in blender

Davis drinks his for breakfast. It is seriously so good!
